San Nicolò Bell Tower

San Nicolò Bell Tower (Lecco)

Standing tall in the town of Lecco, the Campanile di Lecco, also known as the Bell Tower of San Nicolò, is one of the tallest bell towers in Italy. Climb the 400 steps to the top for a panoramic view of Lecco and Lake Como. The climb is well worth it, offering breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mountains and the shimmering lake below. The tower itself is an architectural marvel, providing insight into the region’s religious and cultural history. Run by an enthusiastic group of volunteers, opening hours are all year on Sundays and in the summer, Friday evening sunset tours are held. Groups are kept small, it is best to book in advance.
