Hotel Il Perlo Panorama Bellagio
Hotel Il Perlo Panorama is known as the “bike hotel” because of their expertise in bike tours of Bellagio and bike rental center but it also offers one of the best views of the Lake Como area. The new restaurant and patio terrace is a great place for meeting and taking in the view.
By special invitation, along with blogger Eva of TheMermaidFashion.com, I saw and experienced the hotel, the restaurant and its services.
Hotel Il Perlo Panorama
Via Valassina, 180, 22021 Bellagio CO
Tel. 031 950229
Located on the hilltop overlooking the Bellagio promentory with a full 360° view of both the Lecco and Como branches of Lake Como. On a clear day you can see the snow capped peaks of the Swiss Alps in the distance. Terracotta tiled roofs dot the lush green fields of the Bellagio peninsula.
The address is Hotel Il Perlo Panorama, Via Valassina 180 Bellagio and it is easy to get to by car or the hotel will arrange a shuttle or taxi to pick you up.
As mentioned above, Il Perlo Panorama is a popular location for cyclists, and is just 7.5 km from the Madonna del Ghisallo, the chapel dedicated to cyclists. Cyclist can arrive by van or on bike and there is private parking and bike racks.

The building and interior are modest and welcoming. A manicured garden and stone pathway lead you to the rear garden terrace which opens up to a five star panoramic view.
Inside, you can see where old meets new as the hotel is undergoing gradual renovations and refurbishing. The lobby has a cozy, homey entrance whereas some of the rooms have new pavements, furniture and modern bathroom fixtures.

Some rooms offer lake views an others look out to the mountains. I would recommend the lakefront Superior Lake View room, which is 22 sqm and has a balcony with beautiful vista of the lake or the Junior Suite Veranda which is 30 sqm and also has a balcony with a view. Room rates start at 120 euro / night.
I would return just to go to the restaurant. Aperitivo (pre-dinner drinks) and breakfast are served on the terrace overlooking Bellagio. The restaurant menu has traditional regional dishes like Riso al Pesce Persico and Pizzoccheri, local wines and a selection of vegetarian and vegan options. Paired with the spectacular view, it’s an absolute pleasure having a meal at Il Perlo. In the evening the ambience is charming and romantic with views of the distant lights reflecting across the water.
Hotel Il Perlo Panorama is a family run business and has a small staff help keeping things running smoothly. Carlo, a bike enthusiast and his mother manage the hotel. The hotel location is on the race course of the Giro d’Italia and cycling guests can ride the same roads with Carlo or one of the other pro cycle guides.
Ahmed is guest relations manager. He will greet you with a smile and speaks 4 languages; Italian, English, Arabic and a bit of German! He and the rest of the staff are helpful and will give you tips and recommendations on local sightseeing, shopping and activities.
The Bike Hotel
Como Lago Bike rents bikes, e-bikes and offers guided tours. Located on the lower terrace of the Hotel Il Perlo Panorama, you can find everything you need for your own mini-Giro d’Italia. I did a guided e-bike tour with Lake Como Food Tours, and pro cycling champion champion Alberto Elli! It was a great day!
